Surgeons' Training Initiative

Dear IMSOS members ,

Dr.Srimanth has been selected for the IMSOS-ADLER Surgeons' training initiative and he will be joining in July for 6 weeks training at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai .

Here is the Good News for all IMSOS Members.

IMSOS is inviting the applications for "IMSOS - ADLER Surgeons Training Initiative" for the year. All the surgeon members of IMSOS are eligible to apply for this training.

The further details are as follows -

Eligibility and Nature Of Grant:

• Open only to IMSOS members irrespective of nationality. Once a candidate has availed this grant, he/she is ineligible for a repeat grant for a period of 5 years


• Candidate has to have completed at least one year after Master's qualification (or equivalent) in orthopaedics


• 6 - 8 weeks at an Indian centre of candidate's choice (IMSOS will help liaise with the centre and facilitate the visit)


• Stipend:INR 1,00,000 (candidate has to arrange /fund travel , accommodation, institutional fees)


• Stipend will be disbursed in parts: 50% at beginning of visit, 25% after receiving a report from the mentor where the candidate has visited and 25% after receiving the candidates report.

Selection Criteria:

• Candidate has to submit a statement (not exceeding 1000 words) explaining aims, reason for choice of centre and future plans supporting his/her claim for this grant. This has to be accompanied by a letter of reference and a copy of curriculum vitae.


• Three IMSOS Committee Members will screen applications.


• Selection will be based on evaluation of - post qualification experience, nature of employment, publications and presentations, candidate's statement of purpose, curriculum vitae.
